The opening ceremony of the racecourse was held on Aug 28 and more than 500 guests attended the event, including government officials from the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong, members of the Hong Kong Jockey Club, horse trainers, jockeys and project partners.

The racecourse is the first project the Hong Kong Jockey Club has invested into in the Chinese mainland. Covering an area of about 1.5 million square meters, the project is equivalent to more than 200 football fields, including racecourses, horse stables, horse hospitals, staff quarters, artificial lakes, gardens, underground pipelines and administrative facilities. It is capable of providing training services for over 1,600 horses.
