The first competition of the 2018 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Sailing Regatta recently concluded in Shenzhen, with a team from Nansha, Guangzhou taking the championship.

Nansha sent 18 teenagers in four different teams to the event , with the team named Viking winning first place, team Idlers winning second place, and the other two making great showings as well. A team from Shenzhen placed third.
The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Sailing Regatta is the first of its kind in China to provide middle school students in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao an opportunity to engage with one another while refining their sailing skills. The 2018 event includes three competitions, the second of which will be held in Nansha Marina, Guangzhou from Sept 8 to 9, and the last of which will be held in Hong Kong in October.

The Nansha sailing teams have made thorough preparations for the Shenzhen regatta. On July 21, the young sailors will travel to Hamburg, Germany for a special training session, where they will be trained alongside 230 peers from over 20 countries for half a month.
