Automobile handling capacity reaches 1 million at Guangzhou Port

With ten automobiles made by SAIC Volkswagen Automotive packed and shipped away from Nansha Automotive Terminal on Nov 28, the total automobile handling capacity for Guangzhou Port has reached 1 million.

According to statistics from Guangzhou Port, the total automobile handling capacity for the port is scheduled to hit 1.1 million in 2017, up 32.1 percent compared with last year.

Meanwhile, Guangzhou has seen a major growth in its parallel imported vehicles whose total number has exceeded 10,000, a 187.7 percent increase year on year.

In the future, Guangzhou Port will promote the construction of key projects including Haijia Wharf and Jinyang Wharf, upgrade its port services and promote Guangzhou's construction of an international shipping center.
